Terms of Service
By using MailPing, you agree to these terms. We aim to provide a transparent, professional mail tracking utility.
1. Service Description
MailPing provides tools to generate proxy-aware tracking pixels. Our tracking engine guarantees that once a link is active, it remains functional according to your subscription status.
2. Prohibited Use
Users are responsible for the content of the emails they track. You may not use our service to track malicious, phishing, or illegal communications.
3. Zero-Inbox Guarantee
We guarantee that MailPing will never request access to your email inbox, require browser extensions, or read your email contents.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
Payments are processed by Creem, our Merchant of Record. You may cancel your subscription at any time via the customer portal. Cancellation prevents auto-renewals but does not trigger an immediate termination of services; you will retain access to your tier's features for the remainder of the paid term.
5. Intellectual Property
All content published within the MailPing Knowledge Hub is the property of Pierre Crous and MailPing. Unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use of these assets is strictly prohibited.
Privacy Policy
1. Account Data Collection
We utilize Google Identity Services for authentication. We store your name, email, and profile picture to manage your workspace and subscriptions.
2. Edge-Level IP Anonymization
MailPing operates a privacy-first infrastructure designed to track email engagement without storing Personally Identifiable Information (PII). When our tracking pixel is accessed, the standard network request includes the user's IP address. However, MailPing utilizes edge-computing workers to instantly mask the final octet of IPv4 addresses (e.g., 192.168.1.xxx) and the device identifiers of IPv6 addresses before any data is written to our databases. We do not collect, log, or store full, raw IP addresses at any point in our storage lifecycle.
3. Network Telemetry vs. Personal Data
Because IP addresses are irreversibly anonymized prior to storage, the resulting data cannot be used to identify a specific household, individual, or device. MailPing solely stores anonymized network telemetry, including:
- Masked IP subnets (e.g.,
192.168.1.xxx) - Autonomous System Numbers (ASN) and Organization Names (e.g., Level-7-Internet, Google LLC)
- Approximate geographic region based on the masked subnet
- Generic device and client platforms (e.g., Desktop, Mobile, Mailbox Layer)
4. Data Controller Exemption
Under applicable data protection frameworks (including GDPR, CCPA, and POPIA), a Data Controller is defined as the entity that determines the purposes and means of processing personal data. Because MailPing structurally prevents the storage of unmasked IP addresses and does not possess the technical means to re-identify the telemetry data, MailPing does not act as a Data Controller for recipient identities. We function strictly as an infrastructure provider delivering anonymized network interaction logs to the sender.
5. Third-Party Services
We utilize industry-standard global infrastructure providers and secure payment processors to deliver our services safely and efficiently. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
We employ a strict data minimization policy regarding cookies and local storage. We exclusively use functional storage mechanisms required to operate the application and manage your session state. Specifically:
- Session Management: We use a secure cookie to recognize you as a logged-in user so you can access your workspace and manage your tracking links.
- No Tracking: We do not use cookies or local storage for advertising, behavioral tracking, or cross-site profiling.
7. Google Identity Services (GIS)
When you authenticate with your Google account, the following protocols apply:
- Secure Authentication: We receive a cryptographically signed token (JWT) from Google to verify your identity.
- Authorized Data: We only access the basic profile information you have explicitly authorized Google to share—specifically your name, email address, and profile picture.
- Limited Purpose: This information is used solely to provision your account, manage your subscription tier, and personalize your workspace.
